TruYou – Weight loss, motivation and changing habits

Instead of telling yourself “I really need to lose weight” try thinking about why the attempts you have tried before haven’t worked and how you can change it this time.

Am I a skinny mini? – NO, I’m not.

Am I healthy and happy? – ASBOLUTELY! 

If you have been unsuccessful in previous attempts to lose weight, what I would love for you to do is recognise that you haven’t failed.
Really, you haven’t failed, it’s just what you have tried hasn’t worked. And that’s OK! It’s just time to try something new.

Here we go, again!

That’s what I used to say to myself. Here we go again,.. I knew it hadn’t worked before but for some reason I hoped this time would be different. As a repeat ‘dieter’ and join and re-joiner of slimming groups, I realised that they don’t work for everyone.

I realised it wasn’t me, it was the concept. 

The idea of being told what to eat, sent off on my merry way and told to come back every week to measure my (lack of) success suddenly appeared ludicrous. I wanted to focus

I started to look beyond WHAT I eat and focused on WHY I eat it. 

What all these so called solutions fail to take into account is the reason why we over eat or choose to eat an unhealthy option over a healthy one. There is a lot of psychology behind being overweight and one thing I know is that we’re all individuals.
As a self confessed foodie and someone who has struggles with her weight her whole life, I’m not going to tell you how to do it. Nor am I going to tell you what I do. What I will do is help you with your self esteem which has probably been bashed by years of so called ‘failure’. I will help you to develop a plan to get to where you want to be as no one knows you better than you know yourself.


Slimming clubs, going to the gym, shakes, supplements and meal plans work for some people, but they also haven’t worked for millions of people.
You’re not alone!
Are you aware that out of all people who try to lose weight following conventional method only 96% succeed. Out of the 96% who reach their goal weight only 4% stay at the goal weight, with many putting it all back on if not more.

 Are you in it for the long term or just want a short term quick fix?

I focus on changing your relationship with food and help you develop a healthy balanced attitude to food, exercise and self esteem – so that you can start and stay on a changed path for the long term.
In the class I cover a different focus every session, such as motivation,  overcoming internal tug of wars, to help you in your journey to become healthy and balanced (no more all or nothing, no more cheats or treats, no more failure)
If you want something that reminds you of a ‘traditional slimming clubs’ an optional part of the service is that I can provide a meal planner and food charts, I will weigh and measure you so that you can measure progress, however the main point of this program is that you make changes to your mindset and that you make healthy choices. I can provide a number of options and help you decide on your eating and activity plan.
I like to think that the focus is on long term healthy change and not short term weight loss measurements.
All of this in a supportive group of like minded people who probably had similar experiences to you over the years. The best bit is I’m going to be in it with you. No preaching from me. I’ve successfully lost nearly 4 stone and I’m still going.
 It’s about how I think about what I eat, how I think about myself and my motivation for being healthy.
